Spark Plug Gap
10 Mar 2024
Forced induction engines such as turbo or supercharged require a tighter spark plug gap due to increased cylinder pressure. If you notice a misfire with rising boost levels, reduce the plug gap accordingly. General guidelines suggest 0.028" - 0.032" at 15 PSI or less. and about 0.018" - 0.022" for higher boost levels. You want to use the largest gap you can so gapping your plugs should be done gradually to avoid rough engine operation.
