Tune by Email

Do you have a tool that can read & write? If so, simply email us the file (.BIN or .ORI formats) and we'll send it back ready for you to upload.
Tune by Shipping

Remove your ECU and send it to us for tuning! Once received, we tune it and ship back to you the same day. Just plug it in and go!

AlphaGen - Custom Tune:

  • Can only be done locally in Edmonton, AB on a dynamometer "dyno".
  • If tuning in person, payment is made during the tuning process.
  • If renting a dyno for remote tuning, you must contact beforehand and receive a response before booking; do not pay for rental before receiving a response.
  • Failure to follow the guidelines results in delayed communication, delayed order processing, and a non-refundable fee (see Shipping/Returns/Refunds section).

  • Included Modifications with SHOW and GO Tunes:

    • For 2.0 cars:
      • AFR (Air-Fuel Ratio) refinements for safe operation.
      • Ignition timing refinements for safe operation.
      • Boost level refinements for safe operation.
      • Throttle response refinements.
      • VCT/VVT refinements.
      • 2-step RPM setting (Park/Neutral for automatic transmission).
      • More aggressive deceleration pops/bangs/crackles.
      • Requires 91/93 octane fuel.
      • E85 fuel option.
      • Tunes for larger turbo (if applicable).
      • Tunes for nitrous (if applicable).
      • Tunes for aftermarket cams (if applicable).
      • Requires one step colder heat range spark plugs.

    • For 3.8 cars:
      • AFR refinements for safe operation.
      • Ignition timing refinements for safe operation.
      • Throttle response refinements.
      • VCT/VVT refinements.
      • 2-step RPM setting (Park/Neutral for automatic transmission).
      • More aggressive deceleration pops/bangs/crackles.
      • Requires 91/93 octane fuel.
      • E85 fuel option (if applicable).
      • Tunes for non-stock turbo (if applicable).
      • Tunes for nitrous (if applicable).
      • Tunes for aftermarket cams (if applicable).

  • Expected Gains:

    • 2.0 cars: 50+whp and 65+wtq with stock turbo; higher gains possible with upgraded turbo and specific fuel/aspiration.
    • 3.8 cars: 35+whp and 25+wtq depending on fuel type and aspiration.

  • Payment and Appointment Details:

    • A $100 non-refundable deposit is required to start the appointment if tuning in person.
    • Full payment is required before any ECU tune or modification.
    • Prices may change based on selected configuration.

  • Warranty and Liability:

    • Factory warranty is voided after loading a tune from any aftermarket company.
    • Professional ECU installation/removal is recommended.
    • Alphaspeed, AlphaGen & KingTuner is not responsible for damages caused by improper installation or vehicle modifications.

  • Sales Policy:

    • All sales are final for tuning services or ECUs provided by AlphaGen.
    • Estimates for horsepower gains assume a healthy engine, full bolt-on modifications, proper temperature/humidity, and fuel type.

Shipping & Returns

Returns Policy

Please note that there are not refunds/returns on tuning files. You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).

You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).

If you need to return an item, simply login to your account, view the order using the "Complete Orders" link under the My Account menu and click the Return Item(s) button. We'll notify you via e-mail of your refund once we've received and processed the returned item.

Shipping

We can ship to virtually any address in the world. Note that there are restrictions on some products, and some products cannot be shipped to international destinations.

When you place an order, we will estimate shipping and delivery dates for you based on the availability of your items and the shipping options you choose. Depending on the shipping provider you choose, shipping date estimates may appear on the shipping quotes page.

Please also note that the shipping rates for many items we sell are weight-based. The weight of any such item can be found on its detail page. To reflect the policies of the shipping companies we use, all weights will be rounded up to the next full pound.
